Interactive Dog opened in 2011 with a focus on Dog Boarding. We have now moved into Dog Training dealing with behaviour problems and training issues. We also can come to your home to set up a training routine and schedule.
May 2023 dog boarding is now resumed.
Located in Hamilton, Ontario and serving Southern Ontario’s Greater Toronto Hamilton Area (GTHA) including; Ancaster, Dundas, Hamilton, Burlington, Flambourgh, Oakville, Milton, Mississauga, Toronto, Brantford, Stoney Creek, Grimsby, Mount Hope, Guelph, Kitchener, Cambridge and Niagara Region.
Training Methods:
We use a combination of positive reinforcement and Dog intelligence (lure-reward / no touch training) and clicker training. Both of these methods use food to get the initial behaviour we are looking for and then it’s replaced with praise and life rewards to make sure your dog doesn’t become a treat hound or need you to carry treats to get your dog to co-operate.
We use classic conditioning which is a gentle method to alter the behaviour of your dog. With this method we don’t punish bad behaviour, we promote the desired behaviour to make sure it’s the default behaviour that you are looking for. Your dog will quickly learn what you’re looking for with no punishment, you and your dog can stay the best of friends.
